Yes — Jetrans Movers provides complete door-to-door relocation, freight forwarding, vehicle towing, and container shipping between the USA and Toronto and the rest of Canada. Here is everything you need to know about customs clearance, transit times, container/flatbed options, and pricing before planning your move.
Whether you want cross-border movers from the USA to Canada, US to Canada car towing and transport, or a way to move to Toronto from the US with your car, this guide covers the paperwork, the rules and the price.
Moving & Vehicle Towing Services from the USA to Canada — How It Works
We collect your household goods and your vehicle in the USA, take photo condition reports and secure the car on a hydraulic flatbed or in an enclosed hauler. Non-running vehicles are winched on. Both shipments cross the border with the paperwork prepared in advance, and are delivered to your door in Canada.
Transit is typically 3–7 days cross-border, with the border-crossing day scheduled so a customs broker is on hand. Cargo insurance is available up to $500,000 USD.
Choose your service: household, towing or bundle
When you request a quote you pick one of three options, so you only pay for what you need.
- Household Move Only: residential and commercial relocation
- Vehicle Towing Only: flatbed towing, enclosed transport or emergency recovery
- Combined Household + Vehicle Bundle: save 25% by shipping furniture and vehicles together, with the saving confirmed in your written quote
Tell us whether the vehicle runs or needs a winch, and whether you want an open flatbed or an enclosed carrier. The quote form asks for both.
Customs clearance and vehicle rules
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) allows people moving to Canada to bring personal and household goods in without duty or tax if they owned and used them before arriving. You give the officer two copies of a detailed goods list, split between goods arriving with you and goods to follow. The officer completes Form BSF186, your receipt for bringing in the second shipment duty-free.
- Personal vehicles can be included in your entitlement, but vehicles have their own import restrictions, so confirm admissibility and Canadian safety-standard compliance before shipping
- Have the vehicle title or registration ready for validation, together with your Bill of Lading and the export and import inventory list
- Used household goods owned for six months or more are the safest to bring in
- Firearms, some food, plants, soil and used mattresses are restricted or prohibited
Jetrans prepares the Bill of Lading, the inventory lists and the customs declarations, and checks the title documents, to keep the border crossing free of delays.

Is It Worth Towing Your Car and Hiring Professional Movers from the USA to Canada?
Driving a car across the border yourself means fuel, lodging, a day or more of driving, wear on the vehicle and the risk of a breakdown, on top of the border paperwork. Professional transport avoids those, and the paperwork is handled for you.
Bundling the car with your household move saves 25% compared with booking a mover and a tow service separately on a pay-as-you-go basis, and you deal with one coordinator and one tracking ID.
Insurance and trust
Cargo and transit insurance is available up to $500,000 USD. We confirm exactly what cover applies before your vehicle or goods move, and we keep a photo condition report from pickup to delivery. A dedicated coordinator is your single point of contact.
